Shiny, shiny. This is El Playa Diamante. Breiðamerkurjökull is an ice cap from Vatnajökull that is constantly broken into small ice chunks. Some of them have created the Glacier Lagoon Jökulsárlón, and others end up in the Black “Diamond” Beach. Located in the South East of Iceland, The Diamond Beach is really called Breiðamerkursandur. The diamond name comes from the shiny ice chunks, deep blue to bright white colors that slowly melt and make their way to the ocean.
This is a perfect spot for pictures, and more than one person has used this location as a declaration and proposal spot! Very romantic.
