A private full day along the South Coast to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, with two stops you choose in advance and a vehicle for your group alone.

Jökulsárlón is the furthest of Iceland's great sights from Reykjavik, and for most people the most memorable. Icebergs calve from the glacier and drift slowly across a lagoon that has grown fivefold in under a century. Some reach the sea, and the waves push them back onto the black sand of Playa Diamante a short walk away, where they lie polished and catching the light.

Getting there and back is a full day on the road, which is why doing it privately makes a difference. There is no group to assemble, no headcount at every stop, and no fixed departure time called out from the front of a coach. The vehicle is yours, and so is the pace.

The lagoon and Diamond Beach are fixed. Alongside them you choose two further stops along the South Coast, agreed with us before the tour so we can plan the timing properly. The options are Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Dyrholaey, Reynisfjara black sand beach, Fjadrargljufur canyon and the Solheimajokull glacier viewpoint. Tell us what you are drawn to and we build the day around it.

We stop in the village of Vik for lunch and a proper break, roughly halfway. Meals are at your own expense.

Your guide drives this road year round and knows what the season allows. If conditions rule out one of your chosen stops on the day, you will be told early and offered the nearest alternative.

  • Pick up in Reykjavik

Your adventure begins in Reykjavik as you leave the city behind and travel along the famous south coast of Iceland. The scenery quickly changes from colorful houses and urban streets to open farmland, lava fields, and distant glaciers.

  • Drive along the South Coast

Past farmland, lava fields and the outlet glaciers of Eyjafjallajokull.

  • Your first chosen stop
  • Lunch break in Vik, roughly halfway
  • Laguna Glaciar Jokulsarlon

From Vik the drive continues across vast volcanic plains and glacial rivers toward one of the most spectacular natural wonders in Iceland. Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is filled with floating icebergs that break away from a nearby glacier. These ice formations slowly drift across the lagoon before reaching the ocean, creating an unforgettable landscape of ice and water.

  • Playa Diamante

Just across the road from the lagoon lies Diamond Beach. Here pieces of clear glacial ice wash onto the black sand beach. The sunlight reflects through the ice making it sparkle like diamonds scattered along the shore.

  • Your second chosen stop on the return
  • Dejar en Reykjavik

After a full day exploring glaciers, waterfalls, and black sand beaches along the south coast, we return to Reykjavik where you will be dropped off at your selected location.

  • Se aplica un cargo 100% si se cancela dentro de 1 día de la hora de inicio.
