The snorkeling itself takes place at Parco Nazionale ÁR ÖNvellir, where the Silfra Fissure cuts through the earth between two continents. A certified local snorkeling guide leads your group through the fissure in a dry suit – no experience required. The water temperature stays at a constant 2-4°C year-round, but the dry suit keeps you warm and the visibility is unlike anything most people have ever seen underwater. Floating through Silfra is genuinely one of Iceland's most remarkable experiences.

Geysir geothermal area
Continue to the Geysir geothermal area to see Strokkur geyser erupt every few minutes, along with bubbling hot springs and steaming vents.

Advance booking of Silfra tickets is strongly recommended, especially in peak season (please contact our team immediately).
Participants must be able to swim independently.
Height requirement: minimum 150cm, maximum 200cm.
Weight requirement: minimum 45kg, maximum 120kg.
Pregnant participants are not permitted to snorkel in Silfra.
Participants aged 65 and over may be required to provide a doctor's certificate of fitness.
