Experience Iceland's most celebrated route in complete privacy – no shared buses, no strangers, just your group and a dedicated guide. This full-day private tour takes in the classic Gullni hringurinn and extends the day with two distinctive extras: the vivid Keriður eldfjallagígurinn and the warmth of the Secret Lagoon in Flúðir.
The journey begins at Þjóðgarðurinn í Þjóðgarði, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the historic birthplace of the world's first parliament, the Alþing, established in 930 AD. The walk through the Almannagjá gorge offers dramatic scenery and a direct connection to Iceland's deep history. From there, the route continues to the Jarðhitasvæði Geysir, where Strokkur erupts reliably every five to eight minutes, shooting columns of water up to 30 metres into the air. The sheer force of Gullfoss follows – a glacial waterfall cascading in two tiers into a 32-metre canyon carved by the Hvítá river, with viewpoints that place you close to the spray.
On the return route south, the tour visits Kerið – an oval crater with steep walls of vivid red and ochre rock framing a calm turquoise lake at its base. A short walking path around the rim takes in the full scale of the crater. The day concludes at the Secret Lagoon in Flúðir, Iceland's oldest naturally heated pool, in continuous operation since 1891. Floating in 38-40°C water with a small natural geyser bubbling nearby is a deeply satisfying way to end the day before the drive back to Reykjavík.

Your first stop is Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates slowly drift apart. If conditions allow, you may also stop at Oxarafoss, a charming waterfall located within the park and surrounded by striking volcanic cliffs.
Next, you’ll visit the famous Geysir geothermal area, home to bubbling hot springs and steaming vents, where you can watch the Strokkur geyser erupt every few minutes, explore colorful geothermal pools, and learn about Iceland’s volcanic activity.
Just a short drive away is Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls, where glacial water rushes down two dramatic stages into a deep canyon, creating unforgettable views and mist rising from the falls.
The Secret Lagoon is included as a stop in your itinerary, giving you the chance to enjoy one of Iceland’s most authentic geothermal bathing experiences. The adventure continues to Kerid Crater, a colorful volcanic crater lake known for its striking red volcanic slopes and vivid blue water. A short walk around the rim provides excellent views of this unique geological formation.
