Enjoy a family-friendly horseback ride on an Icelandic horse, enjoy light lunch at Hótel Eldhestar, relax in a warm hotpot and steam bath. Suitable for all riding levels, with horses matched to your experience.

Let an adorable Icelandic horse heat your body and soul! After one hour on horseback, riders can soften up in the big and warm hotpot in Hveragerði’s famous swimming pool, where there is also a steam sauna for the really brave. Imagine sitting in the steamy water as a light snowfall turns the grass around you white. At Hótel Eldhestar we then have a light lunch.

Please note: The tour is suitable for all levels of riding experience from beginners to advanced. During booking process, we ask our clients to inform us about their riding experience, which helps us to choose the right horse for everyone. Beginners and experienced riders ride together. We always try to tölt as much as possible, but do not gallop for safety reasons.

Pick up and drop off, Riding for 1 hour, ticket to the swimmingpool, lunch at our hotel.

We provide helmets and rain gear/winter overalls.

Swimsuit and towel. Please wear clothes according to weather and solid shoes. We recommend hiking boots.

1 hour riding, followed by swimming and a light lunch at Hotel Eldhestar. Pick-up in Reykjavík every day at 08:00. Return to Reykjavík ca. 13:00. Bring a swimsuit and a towel. This tour is offered from the 1st of September until the 30th of April. Note that pick up from hotels in Hafnarfjörður, Kópavogur and Mosfellsbær is at 7:30 and pick up from Hveragerði and Selfoss is at 8:45. Please let us know if there are any dietary needs like if there are allergies or vegetarians. Please double check your booking a day or two before arrival for the pick up location, as the bus stops may change without notice.
