Set in a restored 1915 timber house, Simbahöllin is a charming coffeehouse run by a Belgian-Danish couple who preserved much of the building’s original interior. It has become a beloved Westfjords landmark, best known for its Belgian waffles served with homemade rhubarb jam and cream.
Alongside the waffles, the café serves quality coffee, homemade cakes, soups and light meals with an emphasis on local and organic ingredients. The owners also organise horse riding and tours in the surrounding Westfjords Alps.
Simbahöllin operates seasonally, roughly mid-May to mid-September, and is a popular stop for travellers crossing the southern and central Westfjords. It earns consistently high ratings for both its food and its atmospheric setting.
