Iceland is basically new to golf. If we go back to date, the first Golf Club opened in 1934. Now, there are around 65 golf courses in the country. Fifty of them are of 9 holes, and fifteen are 18 holes. As in the rest of the world, the dress code excludes jeans and t-shirts without a collar, so it is better to know this before you go because they are very strict with the appearance. You will find food around most golf fields and equipment rental.

So now, imagine yourself golfing surrounded by lava fields and glaciers in the distance, with ocean views, and under the midnight sun in June and July! It really is an incredible adventure. We looked for the top 5 places to go golfing in Iceland, and we have them here for you.

Geysir Guesthouse & Golf Course

Opened in 2006, this golf club is all about the quality. Located close by the Great Geysir, it was designed by the golf architect Edwin Roald. It is a 9-hole green in an L-shaped area, and it was constructed with low-resource techniques at an affordable cost.

When standing on the inwards holes, the players will see at least one eruption from the Stokkur Geothermal Spring. It has an incredible natural view! The secret of this golfing place lies behind the focus on the infrastructure.
