An Eyjafjörður town offering whale watching, the Great Fish Day festival and nearby skiing.

Dalvík is a friendly fishing town on Eyjafjörður between Akureyri and Ólafsfjörður, backed by mountains that make it a fine skiing spot in winter and a whale-watching base in summer.

Boats depart for the fjord’s whales, and ferries link the town to Hrísey island and to Grímsey, the only part of Iceland to touch the Arctic Circle. Each August the hugely popular Great Fish Day serves free seafood to all comers.
