The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is often called Iceland in miniature: a glacier-capped volcano, craters, sea arches, black beaches and one of the most photographed mountains in the country. This private tour pairs a full day on the peninsula with a soak at Hvammsvík Hot Springs on the way home.

On the southern shore, Ytri Tunga is one of the few places in Iceland where you can often see harbour seals resting on the rocks. In Snæfellsjökull National Park you step into the narrow Rauðfeldsgjá gorge, see the Gatklettur sea arch at Arnarstapi and walk down to Djúpalónssandur, where black pebbles, the remains of a shipwreck and the old fishermen's lifting stones fill a sheltered cove. After the Hólahólar crater row and the staircase up Saxhóll Crater, you reach Kirkjufell, the arrowhead mountain above the fjord.

On the drive back, the day ends at Hvammsvík Hot Springs in Hvalfjörður: natural geothermal pools set right at the shoreline, where you can warm up and relax before the short drive home.

Pick-up in the Capital Area
Your driver-guide picks you up at your accommodation anywhere in the Capital Area, or at your cruise terminal, and you head north along the coast towards the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

Hvammsvík tickets

Entry tickets are not included in the tour price, and you can add them when you book: Natural, Classic or Comfort. Tickets are priced per person.

Walking and accessibility

This tour involves easy walks on uneven natural paths that can be wet or icy, so it is not suitable for guests with serious mobility limitations. The tour is not wheelchair accessible.
