1. Stop at Kerið Volcanic Crater 15 minutes
Kerið is a striking crater-lake filled with milky blue-green water amid stark black and deep red slopes. Geologists now believe it to be a collapsed magma chamber at the end of a volcanic eruption that occurred more than 6,000 years ago.
2. Stoppaðu á Geysir 60 mínútur
Í Geysi jarðhitasvæðinu í Haukadalnum hellir Geysirinn í Strokkur vatni hátt upp í loftið á nokkurra mínútna fresti. Ef hungur er að éta þig upp skaltu njóta hefðbundins íslensks matar á veitingastaðnum Glíma Geysir.
3. Stop at Gullfoss Waterfall 40 minutes
Hinn helgimynda foss Gullfoss, eða Golden Falls, er aðeins í 7 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá Geysi ’staðsett í jökulánni Hvítan. Glæsilegt og tignarlegt form er eins og ekkert annað, þar sem vatnsrennsli úr ánni hrynur í tveimur þrepum niður í 32 metra djúpt gljúfur.
4. Stop at Þingvellir National Park 20 minutes
Þjóðgarðurinn í Þjóðgarði er ekki aðeins staður jarðfræðilegrar undrunar, staðsettur á mótum Norður-Ameríku- og Evrasíuflekanna heldur einnig staður sem er hlaðinn sögu, þar sem þjóðþingið hefur verið staðsett síðan 930. Þjóðþing segir sögur af landfræðilegum og pólitískum baráttu, málamiðlanir og áframhaldandi þróun. Þjóðvellir var samþykktur á heimsminjaskrá UNESCO fyrir menningarverðmæti sín árið 2004.
