Discover Iceland’s Golden Circle on a private tour with your own driver-guide: Þingvellir, Icelandic horses, Geysir, Gullfoss, a soak in the Secret Lagoon and Kerið Crater.

Gullni hringur Íslands is one of the great road trips of the world: tectonic rifts, erupting geysers, thundering waterfalls and a volcanic crater that looks like it belongs in a painting. This day ends with a warm soak in the Leynilónið, Iceland's oldest swimming pool.

Þetta er a einkaferð. Your group of up to 8 guests gets a dedicated driver-guide and a vehicle that belongs entirely to you for the day. No fixed pace, no waiting for other passengers, no compromises. If you want to stay longer at Gullfoss vegna þess að ljósið er fullkomið, þú verður áfram. Ef þú vilt horfa á Strokkur gjósa einu sinni enn, þú horfir. Dagurinn er þinn.

You'll step into the rift valley at Þjóðvellir, walking between the North American and Eurasian plates. On the way to Haukadalur, we stop to say hello to Íslenskir hestar, then you watch Strokkur explode skyward and feel the mist of Gullfoss.

In the village of Flúðir, you slip into the Leynilónið, a natural hot spring pool from 1891, where steam drifts across the water and a little geyser bubbles next to the pool. On the way home, we stop at Kerið, where red volcanic slopes wrap around a still blue lake.

Throughout the day your driver-guide is right there, sharing stories, small legends and practical tips, with deep knowledge of Iceland's history, culture and landscape at every stop. They answer questions, give context and make sure your group gets the most out of every moment, so you don't just see the Golden Circle, you feel why people fall in love with this place.

Allar upplýsingar um hvert stopp eru í ferðaáætluninni. Pick-up and drop-off anywhere in the Capital Area, including the cruise terminals, is included. Secret Lagoon tickets are not included and can be added when you book. The order of stops may be adjusted on the day due to weather or road conditions.

  • Thingvellir National Park – A Walk Between Continents

At Þingvellir, you don’t just “visit a UNESCO site” – you literally walk between continents. As you step onto the path, the air feels crisp and clear, and dark lava walls rise on both sides. Your guide shows you where the North American plate pulls away from Eurasia and invites you to pause with one foot on each side. This is where Iceland’s first parliament met under the open sky more than a thousand years ago. You hear the distant sound of Öxarárfoss and realise this valley holds both raw geology and quiet human history in the same breath.

  • Öxarárfoss Waterfall – The Hidden Gem Of The Rift

This waterfall, hidden in the heart of Þingvellir, is often missed by larger tours. The river Öxará tumbles down black lava cliffs, its white spray catching the light. Surrounded by moss and stone, it feels both gentle and powerful. The path leads you close enough to hear its constant roar – a reminder of Iceland’s endless water.

  • Icelandic Horses – A Friendly Hello Along The Way

On the way from Þingvellir to Geysir, we stop by a field of Icelandic horses. These small, sturdy and famously friendly horses have lived in Iceland since the Viking Age, and they often come over to the fence to say hello. A lovely photo stop, and a favourite with children.

  • Strokkur Geyser – The Thrill Of The Eruption

You hear Strokkur gurgling, see the pool swell and breathe as if something underneath is pushing up. Then, just before the eruption, there is one second of complete silence. The water domes into an unreal blue bubble and explodes up to the sky, sending hot spray into the cold air. You can feel the excitement in the crowd, but in that moment it’s just you and one of Iceland’s most famous geysers doing exactly what it does best.

  • Gullfoss Waterfall – Feel The Mist And The Might

You hear Gullfoss before you see it – a deep, steady roar that grows louder as you walk towards the edge of the canyon. Then the view opens and millions of litres of glacial water crash down in two wide steps into a dark gorge. On sunny days, fine mist floats up and paints bright rainbows across the falls. In winter, ice and snow frame the waterfall and the air feels sharp and clean. Your guide gives you time to explore the viewpoints at your own pace, to take photos and to simply stand there, letting the sound drown out everything else in your head.

  • Secret Lagoon – Iceland's Oldest Swimming Pool

In the small village of Flúðir, the Leynilónið is a natural hot spring pool first built in 1891, the oldest in Iceland. The water stays warm all year, steam drifts across the surface, and a little geyser bubbles right next to the pool.

  • Kerið Volcanic Crater – Breathtaking Colors

Kerid looks almost unreal at first glance: deep red volcanic rock wrapped around a still, blue lake. As you walk the rim or follow the path down towards the water, the colours shift with the light – rusty reds, oranges, dark greens and turquoise. On calm days, the surface mirrors the sky, creating photos that look like paintings.

  • Drop-off in the Capital Area

After Kerið, relax on the drive back. We drop you off where we picked you up, anywhere in the Capital Area or at your cruise terminal.

  • 100% gjald gildir ef það er afturkallað innan 1 dags frá upphafstíma.
