• Arrival to Reykjavík

  Touch down in Reykjavík, where your adventure begins with a warm welcome and a taste of Icelandic camaraderie! At 5:45pm, gather at a cozy downtown hotel (details to come) to meet your guide and fellow adventurers. Kick things off with an introductory meeting to unveil the exciting journey ahead, followed by a hearty welcome dinner that’s sure to fuel your wanderlust and spark new friendships.

• Legendary Golden Circle, Brúarfoss Hike, and Secret Lagoon

  Rise and shine for a day packed with Icelandic wonders! Between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., hit the road to embark on the legendary Golden Circle tour, a 190-mile route showcasing three of Iceland’s most iconic natural marvels. Stroll through the dramatic rift valley of Þingvellir National Park, where tectonic plates meet, witness the bubbling energy of the Geysir Geothermal Area, and feel the misty embrace of Gullfoss, the majestic “Golden Falls.”

  Next, we’ll start an easy hike to Brúarfoss waterfall. This gem is famous for its dazzling blue waters that look like they’ve been plucked straight from a painter’s palette, surrounded by nature’s most picturesque scenery. Our journey is a breezy 6-7 km (roughly 4 miles) that will take us up 2 hours—perfect for soaking in the sights without breaking a sweat since there’s absolutely no elevation to tackle. We’ll find a perfect spot to pause and enjoy a scenic picnic amidst nature’s tranquility.

  We cap off the day with ultimate relaxation at the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest geothermal pool. Surrounded by steaming hot springs and lush greenery, this cozy retreat offers warm waters (a toasty 38-40°C) that soothe both body and soul. 

  As evening falls, we will settle in for a peaceful night in the charming town of Hella (or nearby), and prepare for tomorrow’s adventures!

• South Coast Wonders: Waterfalls, Glaciers, and Black Sands

  Today, we dive into the enchanting South Coast of Iceland! First, we marvel at Seljalandsfoss, a stunning 200-foot cascade that invites us to step behind its curtain of water (weather permitting) for an unforgettable view framed by the cliff’s natural arch. Next, we continue to Skógafoss, a mighty waterfall whose spray often creates vibrant rainbows, perfect for capturing magical moments.

  The adventure ramps up with a three-hour glacier hike on Sólheimajökull, where we trek across ice formations atop the Katla volcano, feeling the raw power of nature beneath our boots. Afterward, we stroll along the dramatic black sand beaches before heading to Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. Here, we take a stroll through a lush green ravine carved by a winding river, surrounded by jagged cliffs that seem straight out of a fantasy novel.

  As evening falls, we settle in for the night in Kirkjubæjarklaustur or nearby, resting up for more epic explorations ahead!

  A new day filled with breathtaking natural wonders! We begin with a thrilling boat tour on the majestic glacier lagoon, where you’ll glide among floating icebergs, each one unique in shape and color. This adventure offers an unforgettable experience amidst the serene beauty of Iceland’s glaciers.

  Next, we visit the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, a surreal landscape where black volcanic sands meet glistening icebergs, creating a scene reminiscent of diamonds scattered on velvet. The contrast is breathtaking, making it a photographer’s paradise.

  As the day winds down, we’ll head to Höfn, Iceland’s charming “Lobster Capital,” where you can indulge in a delicious dinner featuring the region’s renowned seafood. This lively fishing town offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and culinary delights, setting the stage for a memorable evening.

• East Fjords Enchantment: Charming Villages, Waterfall Hike, and Puffin Magic

  Today we embark on a journey through the enchanting East Fjords! Today, we delve into the region’s rich heritage by visiting charming coastal villages, such as the picturesque Djúpivogur.

  Next, we lace up our hiking boots for a scenic 3-mile trek to Hengifoss, one of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls, cascading dramatically into a gorge. The hike offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, with its unique rock formations and serene natural beauty.

  As the day unwinds, we make our way to Borgarfjörður Eystri, a hidden gem in East Iceland. Here, we’ll spend the evening in this charming village, known for its enchanting spectacle of puffins returning to their cliffside burrows every evening. This is a truly magical experience, as we watch these charismatic birds settle into their nests, surrounded by the tranquility of nature and the Hidden Elves which are believed to live here!

• Nature’s Power & Mythic Landscapes: Dettifoss to Akureyri

  Buckle up for an epic day of exploring Iceland’s most other-worldly sights! First, we’re off to Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall, where the mighty Jökulsá á Fjöllum River thunders down 144 feet into Jökulsárgljúfur Canyon. Along the way, we’ll pass by Iceland’s highest inhabited point, where the rugged highlands meet breathtaking beauty. Next up, get ready for a Martian adventure at the Námaskarð geothermal area! This surreal landscape is like stepping onto another planet—no greenery in sight, but the earth is painted in vibrant colors of sulfur yellow, iron red, and volcanic black. It’s a photographer’s paradise, so don’t forget your camera!

  Afterwards we’ll head to Lake Mývatn, a serene oasis surrounded by volcanic wonders, and take a stroll through the nearby Dimmuborgir lava fields, where twisted rock formations will transport you straight into the world of Game of Thrones (yes, it was filmed here!). You might even spot a few dragons hiding among the rocks… or maybe just some friendly Icelandic sheep!

  Next up id Goðafoss, the “Waterfall of the Gods,” where cascading waters tell the story of Iceland’s historic shift from Norse paganism to Christianity. Legend has it that chieftains once tossed idols of Norse gods into these falls, marking a new era. It’s a place where myth and nature blend beautifully.

  Finally, we’ll end the day in Akureyri, Iceland’s charming “Capital of the North.” Stroll through its vibrant streets, dotted with cozy cafes and art galleries, and indulge in local specialties like Arctic char or lamb stew. Rest here tonight, surrounded by mountain vistas.

  Get ready for a whale of a time (pun intended) in Dalvík! Slip into a cozy flotation suit and board a sturdy fishing boat for a thrilling three-hour whale-watching adventure. Sail through the picturesque fjords, where you might spot majestic humpback whales, playful minke whales, or even the occasional blue whale. With a success rate of over 98%, you’re almost guaranteed to see these marine giants up close!

  Afterwards, buckle up for a scenic drive through the enchanting Troll Peninsula. This rugged region is steeped in Icelandic folklore and offers breathtaking landscapes at every turn, each more enchanting than the last.

  As the day unwinds, we’ll head to Hotel Bifröst (or a similar cozy retreat), nestled beside the ancient Grábrók volcano. This charming hotel is the perfect place to rest your head after a day filled with whales, trolls, and natural wonders!

• Snæfellsnes Spectacle: Glaciers, Game of Thrones, and Seals

  Today we immerse ourselves in the captivating world of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula! This magical place is steeped in mystique, with the majestic Snæfellsjökull glacier looming in the distance. Feel the energy of this legendary landscape, which has captivated hearts for centuries. Did you know it’s also linked to Jules Verne’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth”? Legend has it that this is the spot where the journey begins! Next, we’ll visit Kirkjufell, the famous “Arrowhead Mountain” from Game of Thrones. This stunning mountain is a photographer’s dream, with its unique shape and dramatic coastal setting. After exploring these natural wonders, we’ll head to Ytri Tunga Beach, one of Iceland’s top spots for seal watching. Imagine strolling along golden sands, surrounded by playful seals lazing in the sun. It’s a truly unforgettable experience!

  As the day comes to a close, we’ll head back to Reykjavik for a warm farewell dinner with your group. Share stories of your adventures and toast to the memories you’ve made together in this incredible land of fire and ice!

• Relaxation in Paradise: A Blue Lagoon Farewell

  As your Icelandic adventure comes to a close, why not unwind in style? On your departure day, we’ll start with a rejuvenating morning visit to the Blue Lagoon, just a short 20-minute drive from Keflavík International Airport. This iconic geothermal spa is nestled in a stunning lava field, offering an otherworldly experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized. Immerse yourself in the milky-blue waters rich in silica and minerals, which remain a warm 98-102°F (37-40°C) year-round. Enjoy the serene surroundings, breathe in the fresh air, and indulge in a complimentary silica mud mask to nourish your skin. Don’t forget to grab a drink at the in-water bar!

  To make the most of this experience, be sure to book your flights for the afternoon. If you’re not ready to leave the land of fire and ice just yet, feel free to head back to Reykjavik with your guide for a bit more exploration. However, if you’re eager to return home and relive the memories of your incredible journey, we’ve got you covered! Arranged transportation will be available to take you back to the airport.
