Reykjavík's most dramatic geothermal spa features an infinity-edge pool merging with the Atlantic horizon, plus a seven-step ritual inspired by Iceland's bathing culture.

Sky Lagoon opened in 2021 on the Kársnes harbour in Kópavogur, just 7 km from central Reykjavík, and has rapidly become one of Iceland’s most acclaimed new attractions. The centrepiece is a 70 × 10-metre infinity geothermal pool heated to 38–40°C, positioned so that the far edge appears to dissolve into the open sea — a stunning illusion best appreciated at golden hour or under the northern lights.

Beyond the lagoon, guests follow a seven-step Skjól ritual that moves through cold plunge, sauna (with panoramic ocean windows), steam room, mist, sky body scrub, and a warm shower. The ritual lends depth to a visit and draws on centuries of Icelandic bathing tradition. Sky Pass tickets include a private changing suite; Pure Pass covers the standard facility.

Pre-booking online is strongly recommended year-round, as the lagoon sells out regularly. A café and bar serve drinks poolside. Adults pay approximately 13,000–16,000 ISK depending on the pass chosen.
