Se podría pensar que venir a Islandia en invierno o en verano requiere traer conjuntos completamente diferentes.

Esto es cierto y falso. Digamos que es muy poco probable que haga calor en invierno y que haga mucho frío en verano.

This said: Always, always be ready for rain and wind. The weather is highly unpredictable in Iceland and is famous for turning from an one extreme to another in an instant.

¿Qué significa?

Significa que no importa cuántas capas lleves en cuanto a temperatura, siempre debes llevar una chaqueta resistente al viento/lluvia y un par de pantalones, ya sea contigo o al menos contigo en tu mochila.

  • Kirkjufell

Mostly known as the “arrowhead mountain” since it has been featured in the Juego de Tronos, the name Kirkjufell actually translates to the “church mountain“.

This majestic mountain stands alone on the edge of the ocean. After a short walk, you will reach its beautiful waterfall: Kirkjufellsfoss, from where the view towards the Kirkjufell mountain is absolutely stunning.

  • Djúpalonessandur

While most of the beaches of Iceland are made out of black sand, Djúpalonessandur is among the most famous ones.

Besides hosting unique rock formations, Djúpalonessandur also carries traces of its past and history. Remains of shipwrecks and stones that were used to measure the strength of aspirant fishermen are still present on the beach.

  • The Fishing village of Arnarstapi

The one true gem of Snæfellsnes, impressively guarded by the statue of the first settler of the peninsula, Bárður Snæfellsás, is the fishing village of Arnarstapi.

The coastline of Arnarstapi truly has all the most interesting rock formations. Cliffs made out of basaltic columns and arches that legends compare to trölls are home to thousands of birds that for some reason, have decided to travel halfway across the globe to lay their eggs just there.

  • And more …

In addition to Kirkjufell, Djúpalónssandur, y Arnarstapi which are the most famous places in Snæfellsnes, your guide will also take you to other remarkably beautiful spots that are their favorite in the peninsula.

Mount Kirkjufell, first stop of the day
