Grótta Lighthouse
The popular place to spot the Northern Lights and spend some summer days.
In the Northwest of Reykjavík in the Seltjarnarnes peninsula, you will find the Grotta Lighthouse. This is a place locals go to relax and enjoy in the good summer days with a fascinating birdlife.
Grótta’s current lighthouse has been standing since 1947, and it has remained almost the same. In the 19th century, the lighthouse and the area were forgotten, but now it is one of the most visited places by locals and tourists.
