This town, located in the West of Iceland, makes part of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula area. Stykkishólmur’s favorable location is used to serve as a gateway to Flatey Island, located up North of Stykkishólmur. Fishing and tourism are the two main economic activities of this town, and it was one of the oldest trading posts in the country dated back to the mid-16th century.
