It isn’t easy to decide what to do in Iceland. But going to the hot swimming pools is a must. The best is that you can go to most of them all year round no matter what the weather is. Go to the outdoor natural pools like 塞尔贾瓦拉劳格, local swimming pools like Sundhöllin, or try something more luxurious and exclusive as Krauma. They are all worth it and pleasant. Going to swimming pools has been part of the Icelandic culture for centuries. Perhaps you will want to know more about them 在这里.
Hiking is exciting and way better with a view like the one in Fimmvör´uhanls. With a total of 23km, this trail is one of the most popular ones in Iceland for nature lovers, hikers and even, non-hikers. But we recommend at least for people to have good health and all the desire to do it. The starting point usually is in 回火 and finishes in Skogar. During the route, you will reach an elevation of 3,280 feet (1000m), and the entire journey can take from 8 to 12 hours. Depending on when you are planning to come to Iceland, take into account the trail is only open from mid-June to mid-September. Want more information about this hike? Take a look at our past blog to learn more about it.
Tröllaskagi or The Troll Peninsula is one of the popping places for this 2020 in Iceland. All kinds of recreation are available during the year, but we highly recommend visiting during spring and summer so you can make the most out of it. Tröllaskagi is a peninsula located up north about 4.5 hours from Reykjavík. And you might be wondering, okay, and what can you do there? Well, from playing golf, horseback riding, hiking, whale watching, skiing, and much more. It is also trendy for its cultural offer with local museums with exhibitions that go all year round. If you want something different, then visit Bjórböðin – the Beer Baths with its own brewery and relax in the swimming pools.

We are obsessed with the Westfjords! Imagine driving around the fjords for a couple of days with amazing views and great weather. With a voluminous waterfall (Dynjandi), a beautiful 14km long cliff (Látrabjarg), a white beach (Rauðisandur), picturesque towns, and the most remote swimming pool (Krossneslaug), the Westfjords is the place you should visit in 2020. Enjoy the 24-hour daylight during summertime to see and enjoy all these places. Check our Guide to the Westfjords and plan your trip now!

Æjó´átí´ is a famous camping festival held in Westman Islands for three days generally the first week of August. This year it will take place from the 31st of July until the 2nd of August. Entertainment in this festival goes from a fantastic music scene to bonfires, fireworks, and meeting a lot of people. There is a sing-along on the last night where all the people follow the song made for the festival each year. Þjóðhátíð is a real Icelandic festival, and you should not miss it! Remember you need to book it in advance, not only for the tickets but also for where to sleep. Check our blog on the festival for more information about transportation and tickets.
During the Northern Lights season mid-August to March, you will find a couple of tours explicitly made for seeing them, but what happens if you are running out of luck that day? That’s why you should stay for a couple of days in a cabin or a luxurious hotel on the outskirts of the capital city. A cabin with a hot tub might be useful to relax while you are waiting for the auroras to appear. Or if you want an enjoyable experience, you might want to check the following hotels.
Iceland is a paradise, and if you are not so very sure about this, then maybe its time to experience it. In Iceland, you will see glaciers, massive waterfalls, and breathtaking landscapes all around the country. You can prefer to be outdoors the whole time if the weather allows it, or you can choose to visit museums, delicious restaurants, bars, and other indoor entertainment options. Either way, Iceland is always a great option for your holidays.
