The Wow Tour – Biking

Rauðasandur, the Iceland’s most famous beach, red colored in a beautiful setting of black cliffs and blue sea. Rich of stillness, tranquility and pristine beauty. This is a wonderful place to fill your soul and camera with memories. The local guide will take you to places where the view is just incredible. We will begin our cycling at our office at Þórsgata 8a, 450 Patreksfjörður. From there we will cycle to the bottom of the fjord, stop to enjoy nature, birdlife and the strange sight; the steelship Garðar. There you will get the explanation of the existence of that boat. Now our way leads uphill, over the mountain Skersfjall. From the top of that mountain we will ride down hairpin curves and in a minute the stunning view will meet us. What a WOW moment! The French coffeehouse at Rauðasandur welcomes us with a cup of hot chocolate or a cup of coffee and a traditional Icelandic waffle. Enjoying the view over the sand from the terrace is a great experience. After a good rest you have the choice of bicycling back, up the steep hill and get a good exercise OR our car will take you back to Patreksfjörður where you can sit and relax at our local swimming pool in the hot tub, with the amazing view over the fjord.
