We go on a tour starting at the beach next to the small fishing town Thorlákshöfn. We follow the beach, riding on soft black lava sand to the picturesque area where the mighty river Ölfusá meets the sea. We continue our tour through shallow water at the edge of the river delta and ride on the soft, green river banks back to our farm Vellir. On our way we enjoy spectacular views, weather permitting, and have good chances to see birds of various kinds. (The tour can also start at our farm and end at Thorlákshöfn, depending on tides).

This tour is for experienced riders who ride regularly and are capable of controlling a horse in all gaits in different terrain. If you do not consider yourself an intermediate, strong intermediate or an advanced rider, please choose a different tour instead.

Pick up and drop off, riding 4.5 – 5,5 – about 20 km, lunchbox on tour, coffee and home-baked cake after tour.

Draag kleding op basis van het weer en stevige schoenen. Wij raden wandelschoenen aan.

Een 100%-heffing geldt indien deze binnen 1 dagen na de starttijd wordt geannuleerd.

Summer tours! Departures: May 15 – September 15. NOTE: To be able to go on the tour we need to be a minimum of 2 participants. Pick-up in Reykjavík bij 8:00. Return to Reykjavík around 17:15. Note that pick up from hotels in Hafnarfjörður, Kópavogur en Mosfellsbær is bij 7:30 and pick up from Hveragerði and Selfoss is at 8:45. Please double check your booking a day or two before arrival for the pick up location, as they may change without notice. Please let us know if there are any dietary needs like if there are allergies or vegetarians.
