Experience the beauty of Iceland’s countryside on our “Lava and to the Beach” tour, a 2–2.5 hour horseback ride through lava fields, lakes, and open landscapes with views of the Snæfellsjökull glacier. The route takes you through the Staðarsveit area and continues to a nearby beach, where you can enjoy the coastal scenery and take photos along the way.

Our experienced guides ensure a safe and enjoyable ride and are happy to share information about the area and its surroundings. This tour is suitable for anyone who wants to explore Snæfellsnes on horseback.

Bring good shoes (hiking boots), comfortable trousers, a warm jacket and gloves if you have. Be aware that being around the horses will leave a certain smell on the clothes. We offer rain gear for extreme weather situations.

Meeting Point
Start heading to the reception of the Lysuholl main-house to let the staff know of your arrival.
Introduction to the tour
Meet your guide in the stable for a small introduction into tour, the rules and the basic of horseback riding.
The Tour
Head of to the beautiful beach of Snæfellsness called “Löngufjörur”. Ride along the beach, try some tölt and feel free. After approximately 1.5 to 2 hours you will arrive back on the farm.
Goodbye & Coffee
Have some coffee after the ride and exchange pictures.

Let op

Please note, that you should be honest about your skill level in horseback-riding so we can choose a fitting horse for you. Furthermore we have a weight limit for riders at 110 kg. You can ride in all kind of clothes but be aware that it is not allowed to import used riding clothes to Iceland, unless they are disinfected.
