Tour Puffin

Set out from Grundarfjörður Harbour and sail to Melrakkaey Island, home to a lively colony of Atlantic puffins e un variety of other seabirds.

During the tour, we cruise around the island to observe puffins in their natural environment and learn more about the birdlife found along the Snæfellsnes coastline. During the summer breeding season, puffins return to land after spending the winter out at sea, bringing their distinctive colourful beaks and markings back to Iceland.

The scenery is an important part of the experience too. As we sail along the coast, you’ll have spectacular views of Kirkjufell and the dramatic mountains and landscapes surrounding the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

We approach Melrakkaey and its birdlife with care and respect, keeping our distance and allowing the birds to behave naturally without unnecessary disturbance.

This 1.5-hour trip is a wonderful way to experience the birdlife and scenery of West Iceland from the sea.
