The Aurora Borealis is a must-see in Iceland, and our Northern Lights small-group tour is designed to make this experience both accessible and memorable. We start with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Reykjavík. Travel in a comfortable vehicle as we leave the city lights behind and head towards dark, open areas with the best viewing conditions.

On the journey, our experienced guides will share fascinating insights into the Northern Lights, from the science behind this natural wonder to Icelandic legends and stories.

When we reach our viewing spot, you’ll step into the crisp night air and enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate while waiting for the Aurora to appear.

With smaller groups, you’ll enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere and personal interaction with the guides. You’ll also have more opportunities for photos, and our guides are happy to help capture the Northern Lights with you in the frame.

If weather conditions aren’t right, we offer flexible rescheduling to increase your chances of witnessing this spectacular natural phenomenon.

After the tour, we’ll bring you back to your accommodation in Reykjavík, leaving you with lasting memories of one of Iceland’s most breathtaking experiences.

Northern Lights Viewing
- Pickup in Reykjavík (approx. 20:00–21:00, seasonal) Your guide picks you up from your accommodation or designated bus stop in Reykjavík. Settle into a comfortable vehicle and begin your journey away from the city lights.
- Scenic Drive inn í sveitina Travel through Iceland’s darkened landscapes as your guide shares fascinating stories about the Aurora Borealis, from the science behind the lights to Icelandic myths and legends.
- Aurora Hunting Spot Your guide selects a location with the best visibility for the night, away from light pollution. Step outside into the crisp Icelandic air and enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate while waiting for the Northern Lights to appear.
- Northern Lights Viewing & Photography If the skies are clear, marvel at the dancing colours of the Aurora Borealis. Your guide will also assist with photography, helping you capture unforgettable memories of the experience.
- Return to Reykjavík (approx. midnight–01:00) After a magical evening under the northern skies, relax on the drive back to Reykjavík, where you'll be dropped off at your accommodation.

Dress warmly in layers, as Icelandic winter nights can be very cold. Wear comfortable outdoor clothing, sturdy shoes, gloves, and a warm hat.

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, so sightings cannot be guaranteed and depend on weather and solar activity. Your guide will choose the best available location based on the forecast.

The tour includes complimentary hot chocolate and photography assistance.

If the Northern Lights are not seen during your tour, you will receive a lifetime-validity ticket to join the tour again free of charge, subject to availability. Pickup and drop-off are available in Reykjavík.
