WHAT MAKES THE NORTHERN LIGHTS ?
Northern Lights or Aurora borealis are created by collisions of oxygen and nitrogen atoms in the Earth’s atmosphere with the electrons released by the sun during geomagnetic storms, making them notoriously difficult to predict with even state-of-the-art meteorological equipment.
