KEX hostel is one of the most stunning places in Reykjavík, and of course, they needed to have a restaurant that fitted that too. Sæmundur í Sparifötunum is the gastropub in the heart of KEX with a fancy bistro look but not that fancy. They focus on using local ingredients to offer the best cuisine to show the Icelandic heritage.
Their craft beers, cocktail creation, and selected wines are delicious. And we need to say their interior design is impressive too. Fun fact? KEX means “biscuit,” and Sæmundur is the sweet part like the cream filling in the biscuit.
