Departing from Reykjavík, this expedition targets the Þórisjökull glacier and the mountains just beyond the city’s reach. We navigate past the vertical cliffs of Hvalfjörapur and the elusive Glymur-Wasserfall before heading toward the ice. The flight also traces the skyline of the Skjaldbreiður volcano and the – Vellir rift valley, allowing you to see the fracture in the earth where the tectonic plates continue their slow divide.
