One would think that coming to Iceland in the winter or in the summer requires bringing completely different outfits.

This is both true and untrue. Let's say that it is very unlikely to be warm in winter and unlikely to be very cold in summer.

This said: Always, always be ready for rain and wind. The weather is highly unpredictable in Iceland and is famous for turning from an one extreme to another in an instant.

What does it mean?

It means that no matter how many layers you are wearing in regards to the temperature, you should always have a windproof/rainproof jacket and pair of pants, either on you or at least with you in your backpack.

• 塞尔贾兰兹福斯

  我们的 南海岸 tour includes visiting the amazing waterfall of 塞尔贾兰兹福斯.  The waterfall is approximately 60m high (200 feet), and the water flows from the closest glacier: 艾贾菲亚拉冰盖. This waterfall, just as the next one we will visit today, is among the 5 most famous and most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. It also has a very special feature, making it unique. There is a giant cave just behind the waterfall, allowing you to walk behind and around the waterfall*. A truly wonderful experience.  

  Definitely a must-see on the 南海岸 of Iceland!

  *Please note that sometimes in winter, the path behind the waterfall can be closed for safety reasons.

• 斯科加福斯

  Our tour also includes stopping by another stunning waterfall: 斯科加福斯.  Just as high as the other one we visit today: 塞尔贾兰兹福斯, but so much more powerful.

  Legend says that there is a treasure hidden behind the waterfall, and that once, someone managed to touch it. But, in doing so, they just pushed the treasure further away and nobody has ever been able to reach to it since.

  It could be a legend, it could be true, in any case, we would not recommend you to try and get behind this waterfall to find out!

• The black Sand Beach of Reynisfjara

  Most of the beaches in Iceland are made out of black sand, due to the volcanic activity on the island. But this one is usually referred to as THE black sand beach.

  And this is probably because it is absolutely the most beautiful of them all. We would even go as far as claiming it to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Basaltic columns, caves, impressive (and very dangerous) waves, unusual rock formations, abrupt cliffs, and abundant birdlife in summer, including 海雀, are what is making 雷尼斯夫贾拉 Beach so very special.

  Also, if you are a fan of 权力的游戏, this is the beach where the Dragon Glass Cave was filmed.

• The glacier of Sólheimajökull

  索尔海马岛 is a glacier outlet of a much bigger glacier: 米达尔舍库尔.

  索尔海马岛 (or Sólo as we call it in Iceland) is partly covered with volcanic ashes, making it very distinctive compared to many other glaciers. Shades of white and blue ice are strongly contrasting with the darkness of the ashes. 

  Although we offer another tour that includes a proper glacier hike 上 索尔海马岛, this 南海岸 tour does take you on a 10-15 minute walk to a viewpoint giving you the best panoramic view of the glacier.
