Discover the beautiful landscape opening up between the mountains and sea in southern Iceland. We ride along the Gljúfurá river to the banks of the Ölfusá river, with views of the famous volcanos Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull, weather permitting. We stop for a lunch break before continuing our ride towards the mountains and along Mt. Reykjafjall, where both sheep and horses graze in the summer. Awaiting us back at our farm are coffee and home-baked cake. During the winter season, we stop at our hotel for soup of the day before continuing our ride towards the mountains.

Please note: The tour is suitable for all levels of riding experience from beginners to advanced. During booking process, we ask our clients to inform us about their riding experience, which helps us to choose the right horse for everyone. Beginners and experienced riders ride together. We always try to tölt as much as possible, but do not gallop for safety reasons.

Pick up and drop off, 5-6 hours riding 20 km, lunch included (lunch box or soup of the day), coffee and cake after the tour. We provide helmets and rain gear/winter overalls.

Please wear clothes according to weather and solid shoes. We recommend hiking boots.

This tour is offered all year round. Pick-up in 雷克雅未克 every day at 8:00. Return to Reykjavík ca. 17:15. Note that pick up from hotels in Hafnarfjörður, Kópavogur and Mosfellsbær is at 7:30 and pick up from Hveragerði and Selfoss is at 8:45. Please double check your booking a day or two before arrival for the pick up location, as they may change without notice. This tour is for everyone but participants should be in good physical condition. The tour is subject to weather conditions and might be changed.
