West Park Guesthouse

West Park Guesthouse features 8 connected houses with 2 double rooms and 1 bunkbed room each. Every house has its own shared kitchen and bathroom along with a common area with great views of Snæfellsjökull Glacier.

We are the only accommodation located inside the Snæfellsjökull National Park. The Guesthouse features acres of open land and vast lava fields with ocean & mountain views all around.

The premises is on a plot of land called Gufuskálar and was actively used in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s as a US Coast Guard base and was operational until 1994. From 1996 to 2012, the Icelandic National Rescue Team used Gufuskálar for training missions. Since then Gufuskálar was converted into a Guesthouse in the fall of 2017.
