The Best of Iceland

Combine Iceland's most popular tours in one day!

The Golden Circle

Start the day by visiting Iceland's three most famous sites in The Golden Circle tour and relax in the wonder that is the Blue Lagoon in the afternoon.

The Golden Circle tour allows you to visit Iceland’s most stunning sights, starting with the Geysir geothermal area where the Strokkur geyser shoots a column of water up to 30 meters (98 ft.) into the air every 4-8 minutes in a thrilling display of nature’s forces. The tour continues to Gullfoss waterfall, created by the river Hvítá, which tumbles and plunges into a crevice some 32 m (105 ft.) deep, flowing down into a wide curved three-step staircase. The Golden Circle tour also includes the historical and geological wonder that is Thingvellir National Park, listed on UNESCO's world heritage list, where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates are pulling apart at a rate of a few centimetres per year.

The Famous Blue Lagoon Iceland

After an amazing day of nature exploring, you head back to Reykjavik and from there onwards to the Blue Lagoon Spa to soak in the warm and comfortable lagoon, one of the wonders of the world.

The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland's most famous tourist attractions and considered by many to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as well as an unmissable part of any visit to Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is surrounded by a mossy lava field, offers state-of-the-art facilities, a unique atmosphere and silica masks that make your skin extra firm, yet incredibly soft! Included in this combo is the Blue Lagoon Comfort Package where you receive entrance to the Blue Lagoon, a silica mud mask, use of a towel, and a drink of your choice.

After having enjoyed all that the Blue Lagoon has to offer, you return to Reykjavík on one of our new and comfortable coaches, with free Wi-Fi.

  • Geysir

Next we go to Geysir geothermal area is in South Iceland, near Laugarvatn Lake where you have the option of having lunch. The area is named after the biggest, and now mostly dormant, geyser Geysir and all geysers in the world owe their name to it. The biggest attraction today is the active Strokkur, which shoots up a column of water up to 30 metres (98 ft.) into the air every few minutes.

  • Gullfoss

After lunch we visit Gullfoss which is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland and rightly so. The three-step waterfall is a part of the glacial river Hvítá and falls into a 62-metre (203 ft.) deep canyon.

Gullfoss is actually two separate waterfalls, the upper one has a drop of 11 metres and the lower one 21 metres. The rock of the river bed was formed during an interglacial period.

Water flows over Gullfoss at an average rate of 109 cubic metres per second. The heaviest floods have recorded a flow of 2000 cubic metres per second. During the summer the flow is 130 cubic metres per second, which would take only 3 seconds to fill this building. People were eager to exploit the power potential of Gullfoss and many plans for hydroelectric developments on the river Hvítá have been proposed.

  • Thingvellir

At last we visit the UNESCO site Þingvellir National Park which is geologically and historically significant. Apart from being the location of the oldest parliament in the world, Alþingi, which was formed in 930. it is also a place where you can see the Mid-Atlantic ridge above ground. The Eurasian and North-American tectonic plates pull the country apart by a couple of centimetres per year.
