A private evening Golden Circle tour by Super Jeep in the soft light of the midnight sun: Þingvellir, Gullfoss, Geysir and Kerið, away from the daytime crowds.

In June, July and August the sun barely sets in Iceland. This private Super Jeep tour sets out in the late afternoon, just as the day tours head back to Reykjavík, so you see the Golden Circle in warm evening light and often almost to yourselves.

Your group gets a dedicated driver-guide and a vehicle that belongs entirely to you for the day. No fixed pace, no waiting for other passengers, no compromises.

At Þingvellir National Park you walk through the rift between the North American and Eurasian plates and see Öxarárfoss waterfall. After a stop to meet Icelandic horses you continue to Gullfoss, glowing in the low sun, and to the Haukadalur geothermal area, where Strokkur erupts every few minutes. The evening ends at Kerið, a volcanic crater with red slopes and a blue lake.

Throughout the day your driver-guide shares stories, sagas and practical tips about Iceland's nature, history and culture.

Full details of each stop are in the itinerary. Pick-up and drop-off anywhere in the Capital Area, including the cruise terminals, is included. The order of stops may be adjusted on the day due to weather or road conditions.

Þingvellir National Park
UNESCO World Heritage Site where the Alþingi, the world's oldest parliament, was founded in 930 AD. Walk through the Almannagjá rift between the North American and Eurasian plates and see Öxarárfoss waterfall. In the evening the park is quiet.
Icelandic Horses
On the way from Þingvellir to Geysir you stop by a field of Icelandic horses. Small, sturdy and famously friendly, they have lived here since the Viking Age and often come over to the fence to say hello.
Gullfoss Waterfall
The Hvítá river drops in two stages into a deep canyon. In the low evening sun the spray often carries a rainbow.
Geysir Geothermal Area
Strokkur erupts every few minutes among steaming vents and hot pools. The area is far quieter in the evening than during the day.
Kerið Crater
A volcanic crater about 3,000 years old, with red scoria walls and a green lake at the bottom. Walk the rim or down to the water.
Drop-off in the Capital Area
Return to your accommodation or any address in the Capital Area.

This is an evening tour of about 6 to 7 hours door to door. It runs daily from June to August, when the evenings stay light.

Walking and accessibility

The Super Jeep sits high, so you should be able to climb in and out on your own. The walks are short, on uneven paths that can be wet or icy, so the tour is not suitable for guests with serious mobility limitations.
