Note that the order of the tour depends on the availability/location of the Zodiac Boat Tour. We can switch the glacier hike in the afternoon.

Your adventure begins at the Glacier Lagoon parking lot in Vatnajökull National Park. The official address is: Í Hornafirði, Jökulsárlón, Glacier Lagoon, 781 Höfn
Alternatively, you can type "Ice Pic Journeys" into Google Maps for accurate directions. This location is about a 5-hour drive from Reykjavík, so we highly recommend staying at an accommodation nearby.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour to use the restrooms, as there will be none at the glacier. Your guide will be waiting across from the restrooms in the bus parking lot, next to our 4×4 vehicle marked with the Ice Pic Journeys logo.
Off-Road Drive to Vatnajökull Glacier
Hop into one of our 4×4 vehicles for an adventurous drive toward Vatnajökull Glacier. After 10 minutes, we’ll turn onto an F-Road, making a rugged journey across an ancient glacial plain. The drive takes approximately 30 minutes, during which your guide will share fascinating stories about the region’s history and geology.
Hike to the Glacier
Upon arrival at the glacier parking lot, your guide will provide you with essential gear, including:

We’ll then embark on a 30-minute scenic hike to the glacier's edge. The terrain is mostly flat with slight rocky sections, making it accessible for most fitness levels. Our pace will always match the comfort of our guests.
Exploring the Glacier
Once on the ice, you’ll get a feel for walking with crampons as we ascend Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier. Your guide will lead you through stunning crystal-blue ice formations, deep moulins, and other mesmerizing glacial features. The surreal landscape will make you feel as though you've stepped onto another planet.
After the glacier hike, we’ll take you to Diamond Beach, where icebergs wash ashore in a spectacular display of nature. This is the perfect place for stunning professional photos—whether solo, with friends, or family.
Next, we’ll visit Fjallsárlón or Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where massive icebergs drift peacefully in the blue waters. Your guide will capture breathtaking images of you against this iconic Icelandic backdrop.
Board a Zodiac boat for an unforgettable ride through Fjallsárlón or Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Glide past floating icebergs and get up close to the majestic Vatnajökull Glacier. If you're lucky, you may even spot seals lounging on the ice!
After an action-packed day, we’ll drive you back to the Glacier Lagoon parking lot where you’ll say farewell to your guide and leave with incredible memories of Iceland’s glacial wonders.
