The journey begins at Park Narodowy Þingvellir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the historic birthplace of the world's first parliament, the Alþing, established in 930 AD. The walk through the Almannagjá gorge offers dramatic scenery and a direct connection to Iceland's deep history. From there, the route continues to the Obszar geotermalny Geysir, where Strokkur erupts reliably every five to eight minutes, shooting columns of water up to 30 metres into the air.
