The world's largest whale exhibition features life-size models of twenty-three whale species in an immersive, family-friendly centre at Reykjavík's Old Harbour.

Whales of Iceland (Hvalasýning) is an indoor marine exhibition on Reykjavík’s Old Harbour that brings visitors face-to-face with breathtaking life-size replicas of every whale species found in Icelandic waters, from the tiny harbour porpoise to the colossal blue whale stretching nearly twenty-four metres overhead. The exhibition opened in 2014 and has become one of Reykjavík’s most visited indoor attractions.

Alongside the models — the largest collection of life-size whale replicas in the world — the exhibition uses sound, light, and information panels to explore whale biology, behaviour, migration, and the long history of whaling in Iceland. An interactive digital section allows visitors to dive virtually beneath the surface alongside a feeding humpback.

Whales of Iceland is located at Fiskislóð 23–25 in the Old Harbour district, within easy walking distance of central Reykjavík. It is open daily year-round. Allow approximately sixty to ninety minutes. Combination tickets with whale-watching tours are available.
