A near-perfect pyramidal peak rising 1069 m from the Berufjörður coastline in the East Fjords, locally believed to hold mystical energy.

Búlandstindur is an imposing pyramidal mountain that dominates the entrance to Berufjörður fjord in East Iceland. Its almost geometrically perfect triangular profile — steep on all sides with a sharp summit — makes it one of the most visually arresting peaks in the country when viewed from the Ring Road.

Local folklore attributes special spiritual properties to Búlandstindur; on midsummer morning it is traditional to climb the mountain and face the rising sun from its summit to receive good fortune for the year. The hike to the top is strenuous but rewarding, with panoramic views over the East Fjords and the North Atlantic.

The mountain is located about 60 km south of Egilsstaðir along the Ring Road near the village of Djúpivogur. The trailhead is accessible by regular car. Expect approximately 5–6 hours for the full ascent and return. Summer conditions (June–September) are best, though the mountain is visible and partially climbable into autumn.
