Join us for a three-hour Queer History Walk through Reykjavík on Thursday, August 5, 2027, starting at 1pm. The tour will be lead by a knowledgeable local guide.
Explore the people, places and events that have shaped LGBTQIA+ life and activism in Iceland. Alongside Reykjavík’s queer history, we will look at the city’s wider history, architecture, design, politics and social development, giving you richer context for the stories we share.
Meet at the Pink Iceland office at Skólavörðustígur 16, just above Reykjavík’s Rainbow Street. Questions are warmly encouraged throughout this welcoming and social walk.
Please dress according to weather and bring all the curiosity you can muster 🙂
We’ll meet at the Pink Iceland Office, located at Skólavörðustígur 16 (entry from Óðinsgata), and from there, we’ll explore old Reykjavík through a queer lens.
This tour requires participants to be able to walk around for about two hours. Please get in touch with us before the tour starts and let us know about any mobility issues as we can tailor make the tour to suit your needs.
We do not enforce an age limit but please be aware that queer histories carry as much trauma as they do joy and that adult themes and sensitive subjects will be broached.
