From the time of the earliest settlers, history is brought to life in a unique and exciting way. The Saga Museum intimately recreates key moments in Icelandic history, moments that have determined the fate of our people and which give a compelling view into how Icelanders have lived for more than a millennium. Visitors are guided through the museum with an audio-guide available in English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Swedish or Icelandic.

With audio guides in seven different languages, our guests are led through a visual journey of the early days of Iceland and the stories that form our history and cultural identity.
Viking dress up
After visiting the museum we encourage our guests to bring their inner Viking out with our unique dress up area, fully equipped with weapons and luxurious fur drapings.
