Welcome to The Freezer Hostel, Apartments & Culture Centre; a multi-award winning space that offers art and culture as well as beds in stylish apartments and a one-of-a-kind boutique hostel. our goal is to create unforgettable memories through good local advice, friendly atmosphere and outstanding art.

The Freezer is a social hostel that shares its premises with a highly rated professional theatre, international artists residency and culture center. Our hometown is the Rif, one of the smallest fishing villages in Iceland, conveniently parked on the north side Snæfellsnes peninsula, right opposite the stunning Snæfellsjökull Glacier.

Formerly the property housed a traditional Icelandic fish factory but after a massive makeover, lead by local theatre-maker and owner Kári Viðarsson, The Freezer is now fit and ready to welcome culture-thirsty travelers during their exploration of west Iceland and the magnificent Snæfellsjökull glacier national park.
