Two hours of amazing outdoor activity where speed, breathtaking views, fresh air and whales play a big role!

Experience the sheer magnificence of speeding across the waves of the Atlantic Ocean aboard our powerful, open RIB boat as you embark on the thrilling whale-watching expedition.

Our RIB boat is very well equipped and has seats for maximum 12 passengers. It boasts two 440 horsepower Volvo Penta engines, has powerful stereo system and features padded suspension jockey seats with shock mitigation, ensuring a remarkably smooth and comfortable journey while minimizing the risk of injury by reducing vibrations and impacts.

RIB Adventures is a small family owned company located in Kópavogur. The owner, Robert, is the captain and he and his family aim to provide excellent and personal service. A warm floatable overalls, life jacket, googles to protect your eyes and gloves are provided.

Please note that our RIB boat is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Passengers with limited mobility, back problems and pregnant woman are advised not to attend our tours.

We do not believe children under 8 years old (smaller than 130 cm) are fitted to ride with us. You have to be able to fit the seat and hold tight.

Whale Watching – RIB boat adventure – max 12 passengers
We sail from Kópavogur harbor. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the area where we expect to find some whales/dolphins.

For about 60 minutes we experience the thrill of searching for wild marine life in the ocean, preferably admire them and take pictures.

While sailing back to shore we play some music. We speed along the cost of Skerjafjörður and into Fossvogur. Out by the golden sanded beach of Nauthólsvík we stop, relax and try a local Icelandic specialty: harðfiskur (dried fish). The dried fish is a healthy snack, rich in protein and nutrients, and a “must try” when in Iceland.

While returning back to the harbor you really get to feel the power of the RIB boat and we aim to make you feel like it is a rollercoaster on the water!!!

We provide you with warm floatable overalls so you don't have to worry about getting cold. We advice you however to wear warm or comfortable clothes, warm socks, good shoes (sneakers or hiking boots) and a scarf/buff.
