The Art of Natural Icelandic Perfumery Fragrance: Creation Workshop

Step into the world of Ilmur & Sjór, where wild botanicals, windswept coastlines, and volcanic soil speak through scent. Founded in the winter of 2023 by composer and scent alchemist Nicholas Brittain Shaber, this workshop is your invitation to explore Iceland through its most intimate expression: fragrance.

In this playful, hands-on session, you’ll discover the secrets of Icelandic perfumery—from the mossy highlands to smoky birch, arctic herbs, and mineral-rich earth. You’ll learn the art of blending and balance, and then craft your very own bespoke parfum, using native ingredients sourced from Iceland’s raw and beautiful landscape.

Workshop location
Located just steps from the Reykjavík Art Museum – Hafnarhús, our studio is a warm, quiet haven—perfect for slowing down and tuning in to your senses.

When you arrive at Hafnar.haus (located above Hafnarhúsið – The Reykjavík Art Museum), please use the entrance next to the library on Tryggvagata, directly across from Iða Kaffihús.
