Reykjavik: World War Two City Walking Tour - Iceland's Role in WWII
We follow in the footsteps of the British invasion of Iceland, using period photos and videos to take us back in time to it. Despite the serious subject this tour is lighthearted and also looks at the social and cultural effects of World War 2 in Iceland.
Subjects we talk about include;
– US Military Presence
– The Arctic Convoys
– Changes in diet
– Relationships between Icelanders and foreign soldiers
This is a walking tour around the centre of Reykjavik, the pace is slow but there are not benches at every stop in the tour.
The reason for the no under 10's age limit is the subject matter covered, if you have kids that want to come please get in touch and we can do a private tour which is more kid friendly.
