- First Stop – Þingvellir National Park
Your first stop on the Golden Circle will be Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to the world’s oldest parliament and is also where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.
Here, you’ll have the chance to explore the park’s many hiking trails and take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
- Second Stop – Kerið
Kerið Crater Lake. It was formed approximately 3,000 years ago by a volcanic eruption that created a circular depression in the earth where you can enjoy its stunning bright blue waters and the surrounding red volcanic rocks.
- Lunch option 1 – Farm
Lunch option 1: In Efstidalur you will get a unique and different experience. Right in the middle of the Golden Circle, you get a glance of the farm life in Iceland. This family farm has opened up for tourists and offers a variety of products straight from the farm, such as their famous ice cream, skyr and feta cheese. The restaurant also offers beef from the farm and other local food.
- Lunch option 2 – Tomatoe Green House
Lunch option 2: Tomatoes are the theme of Friðheimar cuisine – and that’s not surprising, since three different varieties of tomato are cultivated in the greenhouses, where food is served among the tomato plants. A unique food experience.
- Third Stop – Geysir
At Geysir, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the powerful geyser and hot springs that give the area its name. The most famous geyser, Strokkur, erupts every 5-10 minutes, shooting a column of steam and boiling water high into the air.
- Fourth Stop – Gullfoss
Gullfoss: one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls. As the water plunges into a deep canyon, it creates a dazzling display of mist and spray that is truly awe-inspiring.
- Last Stop: Sky Lagoon SPA (optional)
The end of the tour will bring you at the Sky Lagoon, a suggestive geothermal bath just outside Reykjavík.
Take your time to relax and recharge your inner battery. Talk with your guide and choose a pick up time before we’ll drive you back to the hotel.
Attention: minimum age for this admission is 12 years old.
For a Golden Circle tour, it would be a good idea to bring a small backpack to carry essentials such as a camera, extra layers of clothing, gloves, snacks and drinks. Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots would also be recommended. Additionally, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat or other head covering can be useful to protect from the sun. A rain jacket or poncho may also be useful in case of inclement weather. It's also recommended to bring a refillable water bottle as well as your electronic devices charging cables to be used in the car. Swim suit is always a good idea!
