  • First Stop – Þingvellir National Park

Your first stop on the Golden Circle will be Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to the world’s oldest parliament and is also where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.

Here, you’ll have the chance to explore the park’s many hiking trails and take in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Time dedicated to visit this location is two hours; the remaining time is to reach it from meeting point.

  • Lunch option 1 – Farm

Lunch option 1: In Efstidalur you will get a unique and different experience. Right in the middle of the Golden Circle, you get a glance of the farm life in Iceland. This family farm has opened up for tourists and offers a variety of products straight from the farm, such as the famous ice cream, skyr and feta cheese. The restaurant also offers beef from the farm and other local food. Time dedicated for lunch is one hour; the remaining time is to reach the restaurant from the previous location.

  • Lunch option 2 – Tomato Green House

Lunch option 2: Tomatoes are the theme of Friðheimar cuisine – and that’s not surprising, since three different varieties of tomato are cultivated in the greenhouses, where food is served among the tomato plants. A unique food experience. Time dedicated for lunch is one hour; the remaining time is to reach the restaurant from the previous location.

  • Second Stop – Geysir

At Geysir, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the powerful geysers and hot springs that give the area its name. The most famous geyser, Strokkur, erupts every few minutes, shooting a column of steam and boiling water high into the air.

Time dedicated to visit this location is one hour; the remaining time is to reach it from the restaurant.

  • Third Stop – Gullfoss
Gullfoss: one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls. As the water plunges into a deep canyon, it creates a dazzling display of mist and spray that is truly awe-inspiring.

Time dedicated to visit this location is one hour; the remaining time is to reach it from the previous location.

  • Fourth Stop – Kerið

Kerið Crater Lake. It was formed approximately 3,000 years ago by a volcanic eruption that created a circular depression in the earth where you can enjoy its stunning bright blue waters and the surrounding red volcanic rocks.

Time dedicated to visit this location is 45 minutes; the remaining time is to reach it from the previous location.

  • First Night

You’ll spent the night in a village in the south coast, Hvolsvöllur. Here you’ll stay in a comfy accommodation.

  • First Stop – Seljalandsfoss & Gljufrabui

Seljalandsfoss is a beautiful waterfall that stands at 60 meters tall and is located in the Seljalands River. We can walk behind the waterfall for a unique perspective.

Gljufrabui is a hidden waterfall located just a short walk from Seljalandsfoss, nestled in a narrow canyon.

Time dedicated to visit this location is 30 minutes; the remaining time is to reach it from the hotel.

  • Second Stop – Skógafoss & Kvernufoss

The second stop of the day are Skógafoss and Kvernufoss.

Skógafoss is a powerful waterfall that cascades down from a height of 60 meters, creating a beautiful rainbow on sunny days. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and a hiking trail that leads to the top of the fall. Time dedicated to visit this location is 30 minutes.

Kvernufoss, which is located nearby, is a smaller but equally impressive waterfall that is often less crowded and offers a unique view of its own valley from behind.

Time dedicated to visit this location is 45 minutes; the remaining time is to reach it from the previous location.

  • Lunch Break
After visiting the two waterfalls around the village, we’ll stop for lunch in a local restaurant that offers a blend of Icelandic traditional dishes and other international recipes. Among your choices from their menu, you can choose between Icelandic meat soup, delicious local meat, fish or their special burgers made from local beef. Also veggie options are available.
  • Third Stop – Reynisfjara The Black Sand Beach

The third stop is Reynisfjara and the Black Sand Beach. The beach is known for its unique black sand, created by volcanic eruptions, as well as its basalt columns, caves, and Reynisdrangar, that are basalt sea stacks that rise from the ocean just off the shore.

The beach offers a great opportunity for photography and a chance to witness the raw power of nature. The black sand beach is a unique place that shows the dramatic impact of volcanic activity on the landscape.

Time dedicated to visit this location is 30 minutes; the remaining time is to reach it from the previous location.

  • Fourth Stop – Dyrhólaey

Dyrhólaey is a 120-meter high promontory located on the south coast of Iceland. The area is known for its impressive cliffs, archway, and black sand beaches on its eastern and western sides. It is a popular spot for birdwatching, as it’s home to many species of seabirds, including puffins during the summer months.

We’ll take a short hike to the top of the promontory for panoramic views of the surrounding coastline and the nearby Mýrdalsjökull glacier.

Time dedicated to visit this location is 30 minutes; the remaining time is to reach it from the previous location.

  • End of the Tour

After visiting Dyrhólaey we start our journey back to Reykjavík.

For a comfortable and enjoyable experience we recommend bringing a duffel bag or similar type of luggage as it is easier to transport during the tour. Make sure to pack appropriate outdoor clothing for the Icelandic climate, as the weather can be unpredictable. Layered clothing is always a good idea, and a waterproof jacket and pants are essential.

For footwear, we recommend bringing a pair of sturdy hiking shoes or boots, as there will be opportunities to explore the natural landscapes along the way. It's important to have comfortable shoes that can handle different types of terrain.

It's also important to note that this tour is casual, so there's no need to bring any fancy clothing. For dinner, we'll be going to a pub, so casual-sporty attire is perfectly acceptable.

It is also recommended to bring a small backpack to carry essentials such as a camera, gloves, snacks and drinks. Additionally, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat or other head covering can be useful to protect from the sun. It's also recommended to bring a refillable water bottle as well as a power bank or extra battery for electronic devices. Swim suits are highly recommend, there is always time for a relaxing bath in Iceland.

Overall, it's important to come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear to ensure that you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience during the tour. Don't forget to bring a camera or phone to capture the amazing scenery along the way!

P.S.: if you need help or advices before to buy clothing or other equipments feel free to drop us a line, we’ll be more than happy to assist you remotely.
