DAY ONE

Tour departs from Reykjavik in the morning, heading for Borgarfjörður. You will have time to get some lunch at a local bistro in the resort of Húsafell. After lunch, you will be visiting the lava cave called Víðgelmir, one of the world’s largest lava tube cave situated beneath a vast lava field, created in a volcanic eruption approximately 1100 years ago.

With the aid of a walkway and feature lights the stunning enormous beauty can now be enjoyed with comfort and ease, enhanced only by the cave expert guides. After the excursion you will be accommodated at the brand new Hótel Húsafell with beautiful surroundings and relaxing atmosphere. 

At Húsafell, you’ll have the time to explore the area or go to the swimming pool and if the weather allows you might be able to see the mesmerising Northern Lights. 

DAY TWO

After breakfast, you will ride in a specially modified glacier truck to the ice cap of Langjökull glacier, towards the entry to the ice cave, where you can experience the hidden and beautiful blue ice at the heart of the glacier. An expert guide will accompany you through the tunnels of the glacier, giving you information about the glacier’s history and formation.

After the visit to the ice cave you will have free time in Húsafell to spend at your leisure, where you can have a meal at the local restaurant, have a swim in the thermal pool, or take a walk on paths surrounded by birch trees.

Late in the afternoon of day two the tour will return towards Reykjavik.

Transfer from Reykjavik. Guided bus tour. Into the Glacier classic tour, Víðgelmir lava cave tour, 1 night at Hótel Húsafell with breakfast, admission to Húsafell thermal pool, transfer back to Reykjavik.
