We tour the renowned Golden Circle, including visiting National Park and Rift Valley at Þingvellir, where the North American and European tectonic plates drift apart. In addition, the ancient Icelandic parliament was established there in 930. It is, therefore, a sacred place for Icelanders.

Then we head to the Geysir hot spring area, home to the famous Geysir hot spring from which all other geysers take their name. Geysir is no longer active, but another hot spring, Strokkur, erupts every few minutes. We also visit Gullfoss, the largest two-stepped waterfall in Iceland. We travel to our hotel in the afternoon.

Hunt for the Northern Lights in the evening. This excursion depends on the weather and aurora activity on the day and could be postponed to the second night in the countryside.

Bring your swimsuit, even if you don´t plan to swim. You might change your mind once you see the warm steaming lagoon!
Bring good shoes since in winter many sites may be covered in snow as well as their paths.
