Our tour starts when we depart from Reykjavík city, on this 3-day tour we´ll explore many areas that are less travelled in a combination with must see sites. Our first stop is Þingvellir National Park, the area is known for unbelievable beauty and history. It´s where the Vikings established the parliament in the year 930 and where a rift valley is being created by the drift of two tectonic plates, the North American and the Eurasian plates. From there we drive into the interior, the route selection depends on conditions at the time. The area we explore is North of Þingvellir and South of Langjökull glacier.
Next stop is the geothermal area at Geysir where we have an opportunity to explore hot-springs and see one called Strokkur erupt water up to 20-30 meters into the air. Our final stop of the day is Gullfoss waterfall and from there we´ll drive to our accommodation for the night in South Iceland.
Bring warm and waterproof clothes, good shoes, sunglasses, phone charger for cigarette outlet and/or battery pack. Please don´t forget to bring international driving licence and your credit card.
