Volcanic Wonders with Grindavik Visit & the Blue Lagoon
Journey through Iceland’s raw, volcanic landscapes and cap it off with ultimate relaxation at the world-renowned Blue Lagoon.
This carbon-neutral tour combines the dramatic stories of resilience and natural forces with soothing geothermal indulgence.
Your adventure begins with a pickup in Reykjavík, followed by a scenic drive through the Reykjanes Geopark, a UNESCO-recognized wonderland of geological marvels. Our first stop is the Seltún Geothermal Area, where bubbling mud pools and steaming vents showcase the dynamic geothermal activity beneath your feet.
Next, we’ll head to Fagradalsfjall, one of Iceland’s most recently erupted volcanoes. A 45-minute hike takes you to mesmerising lava fields still warm from recent eruptions. From a stunning viewpoint, marvel at the fresh, rugged flows that redefine Iceland’s ever-changing landscape. The 5.5 km (3.4-mile) moderately difficult hike takes about 1.5-2 hours with photo stops, making it ideal for those in good physical condition.
Afterwards, we’ll visit Grindavík, an evacuated village forever changed by nature’s relentless power. Learn how the town’s residents built barriers to hold back lava flows and explore the tectonic rifts that scar the landscape.
The perfect finale of your journey awaits at the Blue Lagoon. Following the hike and exploration, we’ll drop you off at this iconic geothermal spa, where you can soak in mineral-rich waters surrounded by rugged lava fields. As you relax, let the warm, milky-blue waters melt away any fatigue, leaving you refreshed and rejuvenated.
When you’re ready, a return transfer will take you back to Reykjavík, completing your unforgettable adventure filled with volcanic marvels, resilient communities, and ultimate tranquillity.
