ABOUT TOUR

The tour starts from Reykjavik and we travel first through a fjord called Hvalfjordur, or Whale Fjord as it would translate from Icelandic. This is one of Iceland’s deepest bays, and we will pass remnants of the old Icelandic Whaling industry. There are of course photo stops in few places on the way to witness Icelandic nature at it’s finest.

We then visit the small village of Reykholt where we take a look at an ancient hot tub built by one of the most prominent scholars during the Viking era, Snorri Sturluson.

After that we head to Hraunfossar/ Lava Waterfalls  they emerge from underground lava tubes from beneath the Hallmundarhraun lava field. It is right next to Barnafoss, a waterfall which comes from a normal river.

From there we carry on to Deildartunguhver, There we have lunch (Not included in price/ optional) and bath in excellent hot spring area in Krauma Spa. They renovated their area from scratch in November 2017, so it is very new and modern.

Experience nature from its core by bathing in the geothermal baths at Krauma. The hot water used in Krauma spa originates in Europe’s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver, at a temperature of 100°C (212°F). To achieve the perfect bathing temperature we mix the hot water with cold water from Rauðsgil, which originates in the glacier Ok, the smallest glacier in Iceland.

Krauma offers five relaxing natural geothermal baths, a cold tub to get your blood circulation going, two calming saunas and a relaxation room where you can rest by the fireplace while listening to soothing music.

After relaxing at the hot springs, we return to Reykjavik.
