In places with many ‘not to be missed’ spots like Iceland, one may find it impossible to see it all. Sticking to the most popular tourist attraction is no shame at all! Let us take you on board our super Defender jeep for an exciting ride to the Thórsmörk mountains. We’ll show you the most beautiful waterfalls, glaciers and volcanoes. In short, the very best Iceland has to offer – especially for mythology lovers!

Let us pick you up at your accommodation and head together towards the breathtakingly beautiful Seljalandsfoss. Facing the majesty of the best-known waterfall in Iceland is really worth all the hype, and to walk behind the cascades of water makes it a unique and unforgettable experience. Then let's drive along Eyjafjallajökull, another superstar among Iceland’s natural wonders. With the view of one of the most famous volcanoes and its ice cap outside the windows, crossing many challenging rivers on the way, the jeep will take us to the Thórsmörk valley. Lying just behind the volcano, this scenic area still bears traces of the notorious 2010 eruption of Eyjafjallajökull, which received high media coverage due to disruption it caused to European air traffic.

Thórsmörk, or The Valley of Thor, was indeed named after the Norse God of Thunder! It's a real treasure not only for mythology enthusiasts, but also the admirers of nature's beauty. Lush green moss, ferns and Birch forests crowned with impressive mountain ranges over the horizon… To crown it all there are Magni and Módi, volcanic craters named after the sons of the mighty god. Thórsmörk offers a breathtaking view over the entire valley from one of the hills, which we’re going to hike – Valahnúkur mountain. A good 1,5 hour long trekking will make both your legs and eyes very satisfied and hungry for more exciting moments.

As the day draws to a close it’s time for the last spot on our Thórsmörk tour map. The otherworldly Stakkholtsgjá canyon, located on the South of the Icelandic Highlands, is a massive challenge – literally! Around 2 km long and surrounded with 100 meters high, moss-covered walls, the canyon offers a very rewarding hiking trail and one of the most dramatic landscapes in Icelands. There is also lovely waterfall hidden somewhere in a twisting gorge, waiting for us at the very end of the trail. Wonderfully tired and still intoxicated with the magical land of Thórsmörk, it's time for us to get back to Reykjavik. What a day!, what an experience

The memories of this amazing adventure will stay with you forever in the form of stunning photos taken by our professional guide-photographer. You get a package of 20 pictures: portraits, landscapes and group photos, included in the price of the trip. We bet this tour will only whet your appetite for more icelanding adventures.
