A journey defined by contrast: fire and ice, black sand and blue crevasses. This expedition combines the iconic sightseeing of the South Coast with an immersive physical encounter on the Sólheimajökull glacier.

While standard tours observe the ice from a distance, we take you onto the glacier itself. Equipped with technical gear and led by a certified glacier guide, you will navigate the ancient ice formations, peering into deep moulins and walking among centuries-old sculptures of frozen water. This is an active day designed for those who wish to engage with the landscape, not just witness it.

CURATED HIGHLIGHTS

The Glacier Hike: The core of the expedition. A private, guided ascent onto Sólheimajökull, exploring the ever-changing landscape of ash-covered ridges and deep blue fissures.
Seljalandsfoss: Experience the unique perspective of walking behind a 60-meter cascade.
Skógafoss: Witness the raw power of one of Iceland’s largest waterfalls. Local folklore speaks of a chest of gold buried behind the water by the settler Þrasi—a legend that remains part of the region’s history.
Reynisfjara: A study in geology. Walk the world-famous black sand beach lined with geometric basalt columns and facing the powerful Atlantic swell.
Vík í Mýrdal: A pause in Iceland’s southernmost village, offering dramatic coastal views and local culture.

Vehicle: Premium All-Terrain or Executive Touring Vehicle (selected based on group size and comfort).
Guide: Certified local expert dedicated solely to your group.
Flexibility: The itinerary is fluid. We adjust stops based on weather, light, and your energy.
Service: We offer seamless door-to-door service. While most guests prefer to start their expedition from their hotel in Reykjavík or directly upon arrival at Keflavík International Airport, we are entirely flexible.

Private Transportation: Pickup & drop-off from Reykjavík, Keflavík Airport, or locations en-route.
Private Guidance: Dual-certified expert (Driver & Glacier Guide) dedicated to your group for the full duration.
Technical Gear: Crampons, ice axes, helmets, and harnesses are provided.
All Fees Covered: All parking fees, site access taxes, and tolls are included.
Amenities: Icelandic glacial water on board.

Mandatory Footwear: Rigid hiking boots with ankle support are required for the crampons to fit securely. Sneakers or soft boots are not permitted on the ice.
Apparel: Waterproof jacket and trousers are essential (glaciers are wet and windy). Wear warm thermal layers; avoid cotton/jeans (they freeze when wet).
Accessories: Thin gloves and a hat (must fit under a helmet).
Essentials: Sunglasses are vital to protect against high-altitude glare from the ice.

Physical Requirement
The glacier hike is rated as "Easy to Moderate," meaning no prior technical experience is needed. However, guests must be comfortable walking on uneven terrain. If anyone in your party has mobility issues, please inform us in advance so we can adjust the plan.

Safety Authority
On the ice, the glacier guide’s word is final. If weather conditions or ice stability are deemed unsafe, the hike may be cancelled or modified. In such rare cases, we will substitute the activity with an alternative exploration of the region.

The Gear & Age Limit
We provide all necessary technical safety equipment (crampons, axes, helmets, and harnesses). Please note: To ensure the secure fit of this safety gear, the glacier ascent is strictly limited to adventurers aged 8 years and above. You do not need to bring your own technical gear, only your personal clothing and boots.
