It is essential that the hiking boots are high-ankle to ensure the crampons grip correctly and do not cause injuries. Prepare well and enjoy a safe and exciting experience on the glacier!
We will meet in the Sólheimajökull parking lot. The driving time from Reykjavik is approximately 2.5 hours. Drive on Route 1 along the south coast, then turn left onto Route 221. After about 5 minutes of driving, you will reach the starting point.
Proper hiking boots are required for this glacier hike to ensure safety and comfort on the ice. The boots must have good ankle support and sturdy soles so that crampons can be securely attached. If you do not have suitable hiking boots, rentals are available to book as add on.
The minimum age is provided as a guideline. Anyone with a minimum shoe size of EU 34 can safely participate in the glacier trek.
